The inquest into a fatal road traffic accident in Doveridge will be held later this month.

Gregory Neate, from Tunstall, was travelling from work on the A50 when he crashed into a stationary lorry last July.

32 year-old Mr Neate, who worked at Toyota's Derbyshire factory, was returning home from his night shift in the early hours of the morning when his car veered off the road and hit an articulated truck.

His injuries were so severe that he had to be identified by his dental records and a tattoo.

The inquest was originally opened in July, but was adjourned so more information could be gathered. It will reopen in Derby on January 19.

At the time of the accident, Mr Neate's wife Donna said: We don't know if he fell asleep, or what happened. I don't think we'll ever know the reasons for the accident."
