Newly-appointed Staffordshire Assistant Chief Constable Julian Blazeby has said he is 'delighted' to join up with the force.

Mr Blazeby, 46, who has spent the majority of his career in East Anglia, was selected from a field of candidates last week to fill the role vacated by ACC Marcus Beale, who moved to West Midlands Police this summer.

Of his appointment, Mr Blazeby said: ""I am absolutely delighted to be appointed by the Police Authority and I look forward to working in Staffordshire with colleagues, partners and the community."

The father of two will now take up responsibility for local policing and operational services throughout Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
