Wintry conditions set to continue

January might have entered it's final days, but the wintry conditions look set to linger into February.

Although the worst of the weather - heavy snow is forecast across parts of the UK - looks set to avoid us this week, temperatures will continue to plummet.

There is a 'Cold Weather Alert' in place at the moment, with the Met Office saying that the East Midlands should prepare for further overnight frosts. 

Forecasts are also predicting a bitterly cold end to the week, with temperatures struggling to get above zero from Wednesday onwards.

Any snowfall should be light, and will affect higher ground.
