Abbots Bromley priest convicted of sexual assault charges
An Abbots Bromley-based priest was yesterday found guilty of 21 sexual offences against eight boys. 58 year-old Alexander Bede Walsh was convicted by a jury following a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. Local man jailed after sex with 15 year-old
A Uttoxeter man who had illicit sex with a 15-year-old girl has been jailed for 32 months by a judge. Police found the girl at the Balance Street home of Alan Hudson after she had been reported as a runaway, Stafford Crown Court heard. The girl was belligerent and at first refused to leave Hudson's flat, but was eventually returned home. Drug smuggler put behind bars
A woman who tried to smuggle heroin into Dovegate Prison for her boyfriend has ended up behind bars herself. Staff at the prison searched Nicola Edwards during a visit to her boyfriend earlier this year. They found a package containing 35 grams of heroin inside her body during the search on May 27. Police issue warning over 'distraction' burglary
Police in Uttoxeter have warned elderly residents to be on their guard after an 84 year-old man had his house burgled on Saturday evening. The victim answered the door to the offender, who claimed he was there to check the water. The offender then stole cash from the property, on Park Avenue. Information wanted over damaged horsebox
Police are appealing for information on a horsebox that was vandalised in Uttoxeter back in September. The horsebox was parked on the Maltings car park at around 2pm on Saturday September 10, when the occupant of a silver car scratched the word 'thanks' into it's paintwork. Criminals break into Sudbury Prison and steal tools
BURGLARS cut through a perimeter fence – to break into Sudbury prison. The brazen crooks then forced open the door of a workshop and made off with metalwork tools used in workshops by prisoners.
